Nearly 4 lakh road accidents occur in India during every year. The rate of road accidents is at its hight in India. In Kerala every year nearly 4000 people lost their lives due to road accidents and about 40000 people sustains injuries. Road Accidents in Kerala
A very high priority is given in reducing the road accidents in Kerala, by the State Government, Kerala Police and the Departments like, PWD, NATPAC etc. As a result there are improvements in controlling the road accidents. However we have to undertake more serious scientific planning, studies, enforcement etc to actually curtail the fatality of accidents. The particulars of road accidents are published in both figures and graphs for analysis and to enlighten the public.
On analysis it is found that most of road accidents occur between 9 AM and 11AM in the morning and 5 PM to 8 PM in the evening. It is also noted that most of the accidents occur in Kerala due to rash and negligent driving.
